Olu founded Pioneer Community Services Inc. in 2025 in response to the growing need for support and services for vulnerable children, youths, and their families. Olu moved from Edmonton to Calgary almost 20 years ago and has called Calgary home ever since.
An alumnus of the University of Calgary, Olu has a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in criminology, deviance, and social control. Olu was a former biochemistry student at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria. Olu’s depth and breadth of experience working with children, youth, and families started in 1993 when, as an undergraduate student in biochemistry, he mentored and tutored after-school math, physics, chemistry, and biology to high school students in school and home settings.
Olu has numerous years of experience working with children, youth, and families at various non-profit organizations in Calgary as a frontline staff, a coordinator, a supervisor, and a manager. Olu is a member of the board of directors of Edmonton Unity and Empowerment Center.
Olu has an immense passion and dedication to making a meaningful impact on the lives of children, youth, and families, recognizing the uniqueness in individuals and the diversity in their needs.
When he’s not working, Olu enjoys board games, long walks, listening to jazz and classical music, watching biographical documentaries, traveling, and spending time with his family.
